Another successful implementation of Pan plus automation system with crystal monitoring system
A case study of DCM Shriram Limited, Loni
DCM Shriram Limited wanted to automate the crystallisation process for steam saving, movement water reduction, man-power reduction, sugar colour improvement etc. For this purpose, they called upon IPROINDIA to implement a batch pan automation system pan plus at their Loni unit.
In the early 2022, IPROINDIA has implemented the pan plus automation system along with online optical crystal monitoring system at their Loni unit on one pan of A massecuite (dropping pan) of 100 t capacity as a pilot project.
After the start-up, DCM Shriram Ltd has done performance evaluation of the automated pan with a manually operated pan. For the comparison, total 27 strikes were considered.
Results
- Strike time reduction by 20%
- Movement water reduction 63%
- Exhaustion improvement 0.68%
